Not for profit fundraising event
The Studio @ PCT, Mornington
Fusion Mornington Peninsula hold an annual dinner to raise funds and awareness of the services they provide. Since 2021 they have engaged Functioning Together to manage the event, as it is such a huge imposition on their staff when managing it internally.
The Friends of Fusion Gala Dinner was held at The Studio @ PCT and although ticket sales were affected by the announcement of the Federal Election being held the same day, and an outbreak of the Flu, all the goals were still achieved, and the fundraising goal was surpassed.
A key element of the event was to involve Fusion’s young people, providing them with an opportunity to develop their employability skills. This was achieved through arranging for the young helpers to serve food and beverages to the guests, being guided by the catering staff. An idea suggested by Functioning Together to introduce acknowledgment awards of the young people during the Dinner was also continued for the second year, and it was once again received very well.
Functioning Together worked together with Fusion to make all the arrangements for the Dinner, including booking the venue, changing the event date and venue when the original venue became unavailable, creating a sponsorship package, sourcing sponsorship, budget management, sourcing and collecting donations for silent and live auctions, setting up the ticketing, sourcing and coordinating volunteers, preparing the marketing material, organising entertainment, sourcing local suppliers, setting up the room, managing the event on the night, and packing down.
Through very careful and meticulous planning, Functioning Together delivered extremely good results again, achieving all the goals, and surpassing the fundraising goal, and is continuing to plan these events in to the future for Fusion.
