Mental Health Safety Net Golf Day

The Mental Health Safety Net Golf Day partnered by SMART Business Solutions was held at Mornington Golf Club, and Functioning Together planned and produced the event.

Event Type

Not for profit awareness event

Location

Mornington Golf Club

Goals

  • Raise awareness of the support and training provided by Mental Health Safety Net
  • Raise $10,000

Mental Health Safety Net (MHSN) is a charity set up to provide suicide prevention education on the Mornington Peninsula. It is critical to raise funds to allow for the delivery of the safeTALK half day workshop to schools, sporting clubs, business, and the general community.

A golf day was held for MHSN’s second annual fundraising event. The golfers enjoyed breakfast, provided by Mornington Bunnings, before teeing off with a shotgun start and playing four person Ambrose. On completion of their 18 rounds of golf, guests enjoyed a BBQ lunch in the club rooms, and silent and live auctions were held.

In the planning of the event, Functioning Together designed the marketing material, prepared a sponsorship proposal, managed the budget, set up the ticketing, sourced sponsorship, created a landing page, liaised with the venue, promoted the event, created bidding sheets, prepared an Order of Events, and created certificates of appreciation for all donors and sponsors. On the day support included setting up the registration area and auction items, setting up presentations, checking golfers in, liaising with the MC, and collecting auction results.

The event was a huge success and Functioning Together achieved all the goals, including tripling the fundraising goal!
